Location
The resort is located on a small peninsula that lies between
two deserted beaches. It is about 20 km from Trivandrum airport
and 22 km from the railway station and bus stand.
Character and Style
The ten-acre expanse of the lush green, landscaped gardens
is surrounded by the coconut and palm groves. The spacious
resort is built in traditional Kerala style. It has 22 individual
cottages that face the sea and invite the whispering and refreshing
sea breeze. The view of unperturbed beach, sea and greens
is a spectacular showcase of nature's splendor. The basic
structure is that of a single octagonal house. Sylvan environs
adorn coconut, palm, bamboo, banana, wild shrubs and chirruping
birds. Each cottage has bathroom-cum-toilets, more appropriately
called, 'bath gardens'. These are open-air baths, protected
by the slopes on all sides. Each cottage also has an open-air
cafeteria.
Facilities
Doctor on call, laundry, 24-hour room service, travel desk,
money exchange, parking, hot and cold swimming pool are just
some of the many facilities provided at Surya Samudra Beach

Activities
The hotel organizes day trips for the guests for local sightseeing
and extended tours to other destinations in Kerala and south
India. You can spend your day at the large swimming pools,
built of granite. The pool has been built in sync with the
natural delight. It is a natural rock pool without any tiles
on the floor. You can be an art connoisseur and get to see
some of the best art forms of Kerala including performing
arts such as Barathanatyam and Kathakali and the martial art
Kalaripayattu.
Surya Samudra being an ayurveda health resort provides extensive
ayurvedic therapies, massages and treatments. You can get

Octopus is the lavish restaurant at the resort that serves
a whole lot variety of gourmet delights from a gamut of cuisines.
It specializes in seafood such as lobsters, tiger prawns,
Barracuda Puttu, Sea Urchins, baked crab, Japanese Tuna and
many more exotic varieties. The restaurant uses only the fresh
fish from the sea and the vegetables and fruits grown in the
resort garden to maintain the freshness and purity in the
delicacies they serve. Bread, cakes and ice creams are freshly
prepared everyday.
